This year we are so proud to congratulate both Nigel and Darren Smith for their outstanding achievements at the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards 2024. After winning an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award, Nigel has received a Seal of Excellence for his amazing site management skills. Darren Smith has also received a Quality Award and a Seal of Excellence, as well as the Regional Award for the North East for his site management.
Darren Smith Homes Ltd attended the North East Pride in the Job event that took place on the 11th October at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, and it is with immense pride that we can announce both of their success as they left the event with two Seals of Excellence and a Regional Award for the North East.
The NHBC said;
“Congratulations on your Seal of Excellence Award at the recent North East Pride in the Job Awards event. You really have made your mark.
“Winning a Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence Award is something to be really proud of and worth shouting about. Once again, many congratulations on your success and for the dedication you’ve shown to building homes of the highest quality.”
Darren Smith Homes have had the privilege of attending many NHBC Pride in the Job Award events, but this year was a truly momentous occasion as we were able to celebrate the success of not one, but two site managers. The NHBC Pride in the Job Awards are the pinnacle of house building, so winning these prestigious awards is a true honour.
Over 800 site managers are assessed each year across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawing and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety. Winning site managers demonstrate incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality. The judges look for that spark of magic that turns a good site manager into a true great.
On winning the Regional Award, the NHBC said;
“Congratulations to Darren Smith on winning a Pride in the Job 2024 Regional Award for his work at Linfit Lane, Huddersfield. You’ve made your mark. You have earned the respect of the industry.”
Darren Smith is one of three NHBC Pride in the Job Regional Award winners in the North East, receiving the award for the small builder category for his site management on Linfit Lane, Huddersfield. Darren and Nigel are two out of eighteen winners for the Seal of Excellence Award in the North East 2024.
Darren Smith will now go forward to compete for the ultimate prize in house building, the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards.
